FAQ

Can you explain how the file downloads works?

We rent storage space on a server (Amazon) to store the files. All of the files remain there until a customer completes check out through PayPal.

After the customer completes the transaction he/she will be returned to a page on our website displaying the link(s) to download your files.

The customer will also receive an email containing instructions and a link(s) to download the file. This email will be sent automatically to the email address you used to register with PayPal.

Click on the link and save the file to you computer. All tracks are in mp3 format and will open with media player or any mp3 player you choose after the download is complete.

On rare occasions our deliver system is unable to send the follow up email. Although this is very uncommon, it does happen.

If you don't receive the email and you are unable to download the files from the return page, call us at (501) 580-3723 and we can get it fixed by sending the files to a different email address.

What are Bluegrass Backing Tracks and How do they Work?

The tracks are rendered from a small file using a chord progression similar to the track title. There are no melodies in the tracks only chords. The instruments are playing bits and pieces of generic licks and phrases that work around the changes.

You will need to supply the melody while the backing track supplies the backup.

It will make the tracks a lot more useful if you know the melody to the tune or at least be able to hum the tune and have it in your head. Many songs contain the same chord progression, but with proper timing and the correct melody supplied by you the tune will sound the way it should.

Will the files work on a Mac?

I have very little experience with the Mac operating system. I'm trying to learn more and just as soon as I'm sure of how things work I will post an answer here.

I did get an email from a customer who uses a Mac and he was able to use the files. Here is what he had to say.

"After you load Jam Tracks into ITunes, use the ITunes search to locate the first track by name then click in the "album" field (you may have to click twice) and enter a name (Parking Lot Jam Tracks), copy the name and go down the list "Pasting in the album name"

Hope this helps.

Is it possible to speed up or slow down the tracks?

Only to the extent that Media Player or your MP3 player will allow.   Although the tracks are built around a small file, the finished product contains only audio.

This means that you could download a 1MB (1,024K) file in about 15 Minutes. Better results will be from faster modems including 33.6K, 56K, and ISDN. ADSL and Cable modems will have the best transfer rates. Your results may vary depending on the reasons stated previously.
